Established in 1885, Raja Balvant Singh College owes its existence to Raja Balwant Singh of Awagarh who enabled the institution to grow as one of the oldest and biggest colleges of Uttar Pradesh. Raja Balwant Singh College, formerly known as Balwant Rajput College, was started with the help of Raja Balwant Singh of Awagarh Estate, Etah, Uttar Pradesh. It started in 1878 as Rajput Boarding House for education and upliftment of Rajputs of India. In 1885, it was upgraded as Balwant Rajput High School with Col. Dobson and Sir E.H. Forsyth as headmasters, and Rajput community given preference. The Scholarship is provided to all the eligible students under the scholarship scheme run by the State Government for the Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribes, Minority, Backward Class & General Category students. A competent scholarship cell is working round the year to ensure that every eligible student gets the benefit of the scholarship scheme and every necessary information is communicated to the students as and when provide by the State Government. The process of filling up the scholarship application form is completed every year by 30th of October. Besides this, the Institute also provides scholarship to the needy & deserving students. This assistance is provided to the students by the Rao Krishna Pal Singh Students Aid Society.

Direct admissions are made by the Institute on vacant seats and management seats as per the guidelines issued by the U.P.Technical University, Lucknow. A candidate desirous of direct admission should apply on an application form available in the office and the institute website (www.fetrbs.org.) along with the certified copy of the marksheet of qualifying examination, showing his / her eligibility and merit for admission. This application must be accompanied by a crossed demand draft of Rs. 25000/- in favor of “Raja Balwant Singh Engineering Technical Campus”, Payable at Agra. This D.D. is refundable at any time before admission. If the applicant is not admitted, his / her D.D.will be returned. If admitted this amount will be adjusted against the fees to be deposited in the college.
The candidates must fulfill the eligibility criteria as given below in UPSEE- 2018. However, the candidates appearing in the qualifying examinations are also eligible to appear, subject to the condition that they must fulfill the eligibility criteria as given .
For admission to first year of B.Tech. Candidate must have clearly passed intermediate examination of U.P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University without grace in required each compulsory subjects and one optional subject as given above and securing minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST Category candidates) in aggregate in required three subjects.
