Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Delhi was established in the year of 1986 by Government of NCT and Department of Training & Technical Education (D.T.T.E.). previously the campus of AIT shared with the Pusa Institute Of Technology and on 6th Dec. 1996, it was shifted at Shakarpur, Delhi. there are various courses studied at Ambedkar Institute Of Technology. At present, the different departments are mechanical Engg.,Computer Engg., Electronics Engg., I & C Engg. and I.T.E.S.M.and new initiatives of IP university BCA & B.Voc.(SD) and B.voc.(MC). Ambedkar Institute of Technology Delhi was formerly known as Ambedkar Polytechnic.
The workshop has a capacity of accommodating 15-16 students at a time. Students are made familiar with the known tools & practices of the Carpentry Workshop. During their course of study, different types of jobs & joints are made by students.
The workshop consists of 4 working benches & 16 bench vices besides machines like Grinder & Drilling Machine. Students are given rigorous training in working with common tools like hacksaw & files. Students make different types of joints & jobs.
The Machine Shop consists of very expensive & sophisticated machines like Lethe Machine, Grinding Machine, Shaper, Universal Milling Machine, Slotter Machine & Radial Drilling Machine etc.

The workshop has a capacity of accommodating 15-16 students at a time. The students practice joints like Slang, Lap & Seam, jobs like Funnel & Tray with practices like Riveting & Shearing.

TCS is the primary recruiter for Ambedkar engineering college followed by some banking sector companies like HSBC and Standard Chartered. Syntel and Indian Army also pop in at the time of the placement season. Roughly, all the students get placed with an average salary of 3.5 lakhs per annum, though the highest goes to 6-7 lakhs depending upon the company and the job profile offered. The college has an excellent placement record.

After successfully submitting the form and paying the fees, a confirmation page of the application form will appear.

Candidates must have passed 10+2 board examinations to apply for a UG course. Successfully registered candidates will appear for IPU CET 2018 between April 21- May 20.
